Today I thought of collecting birth certificate for my kid. I was worried obviously because i need to visit Chennai Corporation zone 5 office @ Taylors road which is too far away from where i live. Eveyone is aware about the long wait time, poor response and birbes in government office. Keeping that in mind i thought of going there in the morning rather in the evening. To my surprise the office was opened at 8 Am and they work till 8 PM.
I went and asked the lady in one of the chambers about the procedures for applying birth certificate. She gave me a form and gave the instructions for filling it, she was polite and answered me every question that i asked. I filled the form and gave it to her and I was told to collect the birth certificate tommorow at 3 PM or I can take a printout online(http://www.chennaicorporation.gov.in/)!!! Isnt it amazing, getting birth certificates online.. it took me only 5 mins to get the procedure done.
